What's a Pop Up Shop? A pop-up shop is a short term retail store that "pops up" one day and then disappears until the next pop-up is announced!
Why operate in a Pop Up format? There are several reasons why! First, it allows us to set up a bridal shop in various cities and locations all around the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia). Second, it allows us to be creative with the spaces and create a unique shopping experience for our brides. And third (and most importantly), we save money by cutting out excess rent and labor costs. We then are able to pass on the fabulous savings onto the brides by offering our rock bottom prices.
Brides don't realize that wedding gowns need to fit like a glove. Not only do you have to shell out clams for the dress, but you also have to pay to alter the dress! All of these dress expenses add up (not to mention all the OTHER wedding details!). This is why we strive to keep our dress prices below $1,000.
Where do you get your dresses from? We purchase from boutique liquidations, sample sales, and wholesale direct. All our dresses are "off the rack" and are therefore sold "as-is". We strive to find dresses in the best condition however some may show minor wear and tear.
Why buy a dress from Abby K Bridal? 1) Traditional salons have an average lead time of an average 4-8 months. At Abby K, you can leave with your dress on the same day! 2) Retail salons charge 50% margins to cover their overhead costs (retail rent, labor, advertising/marketing, etc.) We sell direct to the bride without all the overhead costs! This is how we can sell all our gowns up to 80% off retail! Who doesn't like to find a bargain? 3) Cameras are encouraged! You can take as many photos as you like.
Can I take photos when trying on dresses? AGAIN, PHOTOS ARE ENCOURAGED! What other bridal shop would tell you that? We want you to look your best on your special day. That means you need to look your best in photographs as well! You are more than happy to take as many photos as you like in your future dress!
